UFC’s Nik Lentz and host of other gamers who are also extreme sports athletes join Razer’s sponsored ranks
CARLSBAD, Calif. – Razer™, the world leader in high-performance gaming hardware, software, and systems, is diversifying and expanding its worldwide gaming roster, Team Razer, through several key partnerships with athletes from Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), BMX, wakeboarding, skateboarding and other sports.
“I have used Razer products for many years, and it’s truly exciting for me to join a group of professional gaming athletes that take their craft as seriously as I do,” said Nik Lentz, UFC Featherweight contender and newest member of Team Razer. “I’m a huge StarCraft II player and Razer’s products have helped make me a better gamer. I can’t wait to see what Razer comes out with next.”
The partnership further solidifies Razer’s on-going commitment to all types of competitive gamers, from casual to world-class.
“Since the creation of Razer, the term ‘gamer’ has expanded, and we’re proud to continue to play a big role in this movement,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director. “We’re developing Team Razer to incorporate a whole variety of persons at every level to complement our already dominant worldwide roster of professionals. We hope others will take note and support gaming outside of its current confines.”
The list of sports personalities joining Team Razer includes 15-year-old Daniel Grant, considered by many to be the most exciting up-and-coming wakeboard competitor today. Other notable Team Razer athletes include Padiwat “Bomb” Jaemjan (Wakeboarding), Guy Tanaka (Wakeboarding), Jakkarin Petchvoraphon (Skateboarding), Daniel Wedemeijer (BMX), and Jason Paul (Parkour), among others.
